Residential Permits Top Commercial Permits for 2021

For those of you who are kind of number/data geeks, here is some information for the year 2021 as collected from public records regarding building permits issued in the City of Ottumwa for the past year. 

Residential Permits           105        $4,139,251 private investment
                                                        5 single family homes, 36 multi-family units 

                                                        and 99 remodel or expansion projects
Commercial Permits            28        $1,903,069 private investment

Of course, this doesn't include any of the more than $25 million in municipal projects for which permits are not required. 

Bottom line? Ottumwa continues to improve its commercial, retail and residential footprint, and builds value year over year as a destination for work and family.
