Southeast Iowa State of the Economy is a premier annual conference dedicated to examining the economic health, opportunities, and challenges facing our region. Bringing together business leaders, elected officials, economic development professionals, educators, and community stakeholders, the event will feature economic data, expert analysis, and forward-looking discussions on topics such as workforce development, housing, business growth, infrastructure, and regional competitiveness. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the forces shaping Southeast Iowa’s future and the collaborative strategies needed to drive continued prosperity.
This year’s program features Debi Durham on Iowa’s economy and regional growth strategy, economist Peter Orazem examining Southern Iowa’s economic trends and forecasts, and Matt Naumann discussing solutions to workforce housing challenges. Additional conversations will explore the regional workforce ecosystem and bring together Southern Iowa business leaders to share how they are navigating inflation, supply chain pressures, and changing market conditions.
