Today was more than a groundbreaking — it was a major step forward for housing and growth in Ottumwa.
We were proud to join our partners, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate the official groundbreaking of Vogel Heights, a 58-unit market-rate housing development that will transform the former St. Joseph Hospital property into new opportunities for families and residents in our community.
Projects like Vogel Heights don’t happen overnight. They happen through collaboration, persistence, and partners willing to invest in Ottumwa’s future. We’re grateful to work alongside the Ottumwa Legacy Foundation, City of Ottumwa, Iowa, Wapello County, AV Ottumwa LLC, Sidekick Development, and many others who helped bring this vision to life.
At Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress, this is exactly the kind of work we exist to do — bringing people together to move our region forward. Today’s groundbreaking is one of the biggest accomplishments in our organization’s history, and we’re excited for what it means for the future of Ottumwa.
The work continues. The momentum continues. And Ottumwa continues to grow.
